Bringing Grace Full Home

We bought our boat in Tom's River, NJ where she stayed "on the hard" for the winter so that the boat yard could do some work on her before we brought her down to the Chesapeake. The first week in May it was time to bring her home to Maryland Yacht Club where we had obtained a slip. Our friends drove us up to NJ and we spent the first day on Barnegat Bay getting a feel for how she operated. Our friends left and, after our first night in our new home, we set off for the Chesapeake. We decided to go down the coast of New Jersey offshore so that we wouldn't have to wend our way along the winding ICW and we had a great trip. We found out we had an autopilot and that was a godsend in the ocean. You just set your course and don't touch the wheel after that. We arrived at Cape May after a 12 hour run and had to stay there for a couple of days due to 10-12 foot seas on Delaware Bay. It was a nice mini-vacation for us and we thoroughly enjoyed Cape May. Our trip to Baltimore was uneventful, but very long, as it took us over 13 hours. We brought our Grace Full home and were excited to start our new adventure.
