We moved back aboard our boat early in April and, after a winter without our tender touch, she was dirty and disheveled. We were able to make her livable, but it took a few weeks before we had time to spruce her up to be the beauty she was meant to be. We hired a gentleman to replace the canvas and isinglass that enclosed both the pilothouse and the sundeck and were awestruck with the beauty of the new enclosures when we arrived home from work one day. She is being dressed for her departure day like a bride for her wedding.
We have made long lists of the items we still need to purchase for our journey and it is fun to check them off after we make many trips to West Marine and order those incredible bargains we find online. We have been very busy finishing our jobs and traveling to see our family and friends, as we won't see them again for some time. There is a sadness in our hearts as we say goodbye to our Maryland friends because we will be moving to South Carolina when we complete the trip and very likely won't see them again for an extended period of time. Moving forward with our dream creates such ambivalent feelings in us as we are excited and scared and sad all at the same time. We can't wait to get started, but are afraid of the disasters that could befall us. We are leaving our home and friends of 30 years, not to return here again except for visits.
I am done with work and Flint has three more days left. We can't possibly be old enough to be retired! What happened to all those years? As unbelievable as it may seem to us, we are ready to start this next stage of life and it will be an adventure of a lifetime. In three weeks we shove off and we hope you will all join us in cyberspace and live the dream with us.

I just wanted you to know that I am very excited for you. I will be following your journey from cyberspace and we are looking forward to joining you in July for some fun filled weeks. I will be praying for you daily.
Love you both,
Jen
Congratulations to both of you - you're now both retired! Keith and I so enjoy this site and have looked at and read everything.
Know you must be a bit anxious about this exciting adventure you are taking. You can be sure we will stay in touch and follow your journey. Praying for safe and successful travel.
Leslie - if you get a chance please send me your new email. For some reason I lost the address and have searched everywhere. The ole memory isn't helping out - seems to be on a break. Fondly, Betty
